You’re juggling everything—work, relationships, personal goals—and from the outside, it seems like you’ve got it all together. But inside, it’s a different story. You feel constantly on edge, like your mind never shuts off, even moments of rest don’t feel restful—you might numb out, but deep down, the exhaustion lingers. You can’t remember the last time you truly felt at peace. Your stress responses have become so engrained you've started to see them as part of your identity and who you are.

WHAT IS NERVOUS SYSTEM REGULATION?
Nervous system regulation is the process of bringing your body and mind into balance. Many of us live in a state of constant dysregulation—whether it’s from chronic stress, unresolved trauma, or emotional patterns we've developed to survive. When the nervous system perceives a threat or overwhelming situation, it triggers one of four stress responses: Fight, Flight, Freeze, or Fawn. These are automatic survival mechanisms designed to protect us, but when left unchecked, they can leave us stuck in unhealthy patterns.
01
FIGHT
The fight response is a protective mechanism that activates when we feel cornered or threatened. It causes a surge in energy and adrenaline focused on confronting the stress head-on. It often shows up as anger or aggression as a way to reclaim control over a situation.

Examples:
-
You resort to arguing, raising your voice and dominant body language
-
You don't shy away from confrontation and often struggle to filter your words
-
You get defensive when criticized or corrected
-
You try to control others or situations
-
You struggle to take in others' opinions and often feel you're right and need to be in charge
02
FLIGHT
The flight response is triggered when feel the urge to escape or flee when we perceive stress or danger. The brain and body signals to the body to get as far away from the source of stress as possible. This often experienced as high anxiety and avoidant thoughts and behaviors.

Examples:
-
You overwork yourself or stay excessively busy
-
You tend to avoid conflict or difficult conversations
-
You experience high anxiety and often feel the urge to need to "run away" from problems
-
You often feel restless when stressed and fidget, have restless legs, and struggle to sit still
03
FREEZE
The freeze response causes you to become immobilized when we feel we can’t fight or flee from a situation. The brain and body perceives the situation as so overwhelming that it causes a shut down as a defense mechanism, often leading to feelings of being stuck or disconnected from our body and emotions.
Examples:
-
You experience procrastination
-
You self-isolate
-
You experience brain fog and struggle to process information and remember things
-
You zone out or feeling numb during stressful situations
-
You feel emotionally paralyzed and indecisive
-
You struggle with daily tasks like getting out of bed, showering, taking your dog for a walk and responding to friends
04
FAWN
The fawn response is characterized by people-pleasing and appeasing others to maintain a sense of safety, diffuse conflict or mitigate stress. Rather than fighting back or fleeing, the brain and body result in befriending the source of stress.

Examples:
-
You agree quickly and over-apologize to avoid conflict and diffuse stressful situations
-
You take ownership and responsibility for blame that isn't actually yours
-
You overcommit, struggle to set boundaries or say no
-
You avoid expressing your true thoughts and feelings in attempts to keep the peace

THE POWER OF
PARTS WORK
Have you ever felt like one part of you wants to rest while another pushes you to keep working? This internal conflict is a sign of competing parts within us, each with its own needs and desires.
Parts work is a therapeutic approach that helps identify and heal the fragmented parts of yourself that hold emotional wounds or limiting beliefs. By working through these parts, you can achieve greater self-awareness and start living in harmony with all aspects of yourself.

Together, we'll:
-
Identify the parts of yourself that feel stuck, resistant, or fearful
-
Explore where these parts came from and why they formed
-
Begin the process of integration, so you can align with your true self and desires

In my one-on-one coaching program, we’ll dive deep into the root causes of your emotional patterns, moving through three distinct phases:

WHAT YOU'LL EXPERIENCE:
01
03
02
We’ll begin by exploring how your nervous system functions and where the dysregulation is coming from. You’ll have profound "aha moments" as you recognize the hidden reasons behind your stress, procrastination, perfectionism, and emotional numbness. I'll help you learn how to access self-compassion from a place that fosters safety and regulation rather than deepening shame and dysregulation. This understanding will help you connect the dots between your life experiences and how they’ve impacted your body’s stress response, allowing you to finally understand why you’ve felt so overwhelmed or disconnected for so long.
Awareness & Education
Somatic & Parts Work Healing
Integration & Growth
Finally, we’ll work on integrating these lessons into your everyday life. You’ll develop practical skills to self-regulate and nurture the different parts of yourself, allowing you to confidently navigate life without the weight of survival patterns. As you grow, you’ll notice an increase in your ability to experience joy, stay connected in your relationships, and confidently make decisions without being held back by fear or perfectionism.
Once you’ve gained clarity and developed tools to explore your inner world with compassion and curiosity, we’ll move into exploring learned stress responses held within your body and gain a deeper relationship with parts of yourself that contribute to keeping you in a state of stress and dysregulation and are storing emotional tension. This phase combines somatic (body-based) practices with parts work, where we’ll identify and heal the inner parts of you that have developed survival strategies, like overworking, emotional avoidance, or perfectionism.

You’ll learn how to create a sense of safety from within—empowering you to regulate your nervous system on your own, so you can stop living in constant survival mode and start feeling more present and relaxed, even in challenging situations.

I’m a mental health therapist and coach specializing in nervous system regulation and parts work. I help individuals who feel lost and stuck in cycles of anxiety, stress, burnout, unfulfillment and emotional disconnection find relief and balance. Through personalized coaching, I guide clients to reconnect with their bodies, heal emotional wounds, and shift out of survival patterns that we become so familiar with we actually start to identify with them as a part of who we are and don't realize are stress responses.
My passion for this work comes from my own experiences and the realization that no matter how much we try to "get it all together" externally, it means nothing if we’re constantly at war with ourselves internally. I saw firsthand how stress, perfectionism, and old emotional wounds can keep us stuck in survival mode, disconnected from the present moment, being able to enjoy the fruits of our labor and feel content and fulfilled in life.

Hi, I'm Aleta

I've run my own private practice as a mental health therapist for 6+ years and through years of study and personal healing, I became deeply invested in learning how the nervous system shapes our emotions, behaviors, and relationships. This led me to specialize in nervous system regulation and parts work—two powerful approaches that help my clients find lasting relief from the inside out.
I live in a small, beautiful town in Canada surrounded by nature, and a large fresh water lake. When I’m not working you'll find me exploring different coffee shops and hiking trails, gardening and swimming as much as possible in the summer, and hibernating in my cozy-earth toned-plant filled home in the winter. I love to cook and love even more to cook and eat with people I love. Dinner parties and potlucks are my favourite way to connect and express love.
